Animals in Control

Animals in Control is a joint venture by Peggy Hogan (Clicker Training Horses) and Eva Bertilsson & Emelie Johnson Vegh (Carpe Momentum). In 2015 we got together discussing our shared passion for using positive reinforcement training skills to provide control to our non-human team members, in training sessions as well as in life in general. From these discussions our presentation “Animals in Control” was born, and fledged at Clicker Expo in January 2016.

The Animals In Control presentation- a joint venture!

We think the original presentation is a must-see for anyone interested in the subjects of choice, control and communication. It offers an excellent framework for exploring those topics from a behavioral viewpoint, with request behaviors, choice behaviors and start button behaviors discussed in depth with plenty of practical examples and accompanying video clips. Did you for example know that this is the presentation where the term “start button behavior” was launched? Eva & Emelie discussed “behaviors that works as start buttons” already in their book Agility Right From The Start, but it was first in this joint work with Peggy Hogan the Animals In Control lecture that the term came to life and took off into the world. So, if you want to know more about start button behaviors, this presentation is an awesome source for original information!
